Not that I don't love keeping all the attention on myself, but I'd like to introduce you to some of my good friends here at Craig - all these folks are Christians, handling their situation as best they can, and perhaps as you remember to pray for me, you could remember to pray for them as well:

Denver: Denver was my roomate in my first room at Craig. He's from... Denver - but he's lived all over. He was recovering brilliantly, but had to have a major jaw/facial surgery to fix stuff that they didn't originally get right, and it set him back for a week or so a week back, but he's doing well again. Unfortunately, he may have to have another surgery just a week before his discharge date, in the middle of February.

Liz: Liz is from Fort Collins, a sophomore at Rocky Mountain High School [Note from Eric: after visiting the site I realized this school is so cool they even have their own IZZLE site]. She was injured in a car accident while travelling to a prayer rally in Kansas City at the end of December. Physically, she is doing very, very well. She believes that through God's power, she will walk again... So much so, that she's not sure why she should complete the entire rehab process of learning to live in a wheelchair. Pray also for her brother RJ, a freshman at CSU, who was driving during the accident.

Jason: Jason is a farmboy/truckdriver from the eastern border of Nebraska. His fiance, Elle, and family are constantly at his side - and join in all the wheelchair games during wheelchair class. Their a great group to have here at the hospital, as their enthusiasm is contagious. Jason plans to return to farming, and have a wedding in August, but he currently says he won't leave Craig until they figure out what is causing the sharp pain in his upper legs.

Drew: We immediately discovered that I recognized his son Stephen's name because Calvin was recruiting him for cross country when I was a freshman there (Stephen actually ended up at Williams College, Mass.), and that we were both at the DIII National meet in Eu Claire, WI the weekend before my accident. Drew is from Colorado Springs, and was injured in a skiing accident. Though hurt a month earlier than I, Drew is pretty much already kicking my butt in therapy - lowsy flexible legs... He probably won't appreciate this, but he also has a website - www.drewwills.com

Anyways, I'm not putting this up here to gossip, but because these guys and gal are great friends, and like I, are experiencing the ups and downs of spinal cord injury rehab.

Daryl

PS - Eric, nice job on linking my last post to all those other sites. Real slick. And classy...

PPS - Kaitlyn, bring it on. I'm ready now - my attention span is greatly improved, and I can stay up in my chair all day - not that it will take that long for me to win.
