Faith and Healing

Why is it important to read God’s Word if you want to be healed?

Psalm 107:19-21
Healing comes from God’s Word! So read the Word…

Pray with faith:

James 5:13-18
“the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick”
“the effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much”

Where does faith come from?

Rom. 10:17
“faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.”
So let’s look at the words of Christ…

Jesus gives us the authority to ask for healing:

Matt. 10:1, 8
Jesus gave authority to men over all sickness. See also Luke 9:1-2

John 14:12-14
Jesus says those who believe in Him will do greater works than Him!
He says “if you ask anything in My Name, I will do it.”
See also:
John 15:16 – Whatever you ask in My Name…
John 15:7 – If you abide in Me…ask whatever you wish and it will be done…
Matt. 18:19 – If two agree on earth…it shall be done…
John 11:22 – Martha asked Jesus with faith, and Lazarus was raised.
Luke 11:9-13 – Ask and it shall be given… (also Matt. 7:7-11)

Jesus says to ask with confident expectation:

Mark 11:23-24
“all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them and they shall be granted you.”
Jesus says to pray with confident expectation believing that you already have received it.
Also Matt. 21:21-22 - “all things you ask…believing, you shall receive.”
1 John 5:14-15 - “if we know that He hears us…we know that we have the requests which we have asked.”

Jesus says to be persistent in our prayers:

Luke 11:5-8
Be persistent in asking. Jesus says that asking one time is often not enough.
Also Matt. 7:7-11
