2/28/2005: Daryl seems to be doing relatively well. Check out his newest post here to get the firsthand scoop on what's been going on lately. You will read about his ear problem in the post...let's all pray that he regains his hearing in that ear!

2/22/2005: Daryl continues to progress in his daily regimen. He is now able to go without wearing a brace! He has a permanent brace in his spine where the two rods from this initial surgery are holding part of it straight, but it seems to be freeing not to have to wear an external one. The recovery is a long battle, but as we expected Daryl is couragously facing it head-on. We had fun playing "Cities & Knights" last night, but unfortunately the game dragged on for over 4 hours before we named Mike the winner with 9 points (13 needed to win). My mom has begun home modifications by converting her room into Daryl's room, making the bathroom accessible, and adding a ramp to the front door.
2/14/2005: Yesterday was a fun day. Daryl went to two sporting events; Mike's hockey game and then a Colorado Mammoth Lacrosse game, for which us four siblings got to hang out in the hospital's VIP suite at the Pepsi center. Daryl is progressing well in rehab, and is getting good at transferring himself into cars, etc. As you might expect, there continues to be mior setbacks and complications from time-to-time, so please pray that such obstacles would be overcome and not dampen Daryl's spirits. Also my mom's 12-week leave is over, so she must go back to work although Daryl will remain in the hospital until mid-March. Please keep her and the rest of the family in prayer as well.
2/9/2005: After a long day of being "on call" for the procedure, the filter was successfully removed. Praise God!
2/8/2005: Daryl is having a procedure done today to remove the "blood clot catcher device". Please pray for success in the procedure and peace for Daryl as it's nerve-wracking to have people sticking things down your jugular.
2/6/2005: Daryl got to go to the big game today! No--not the Superbowl. His bother Mike's hockey game, which ended in a tie. He is continuing to do well in therapy. One major annoyance lately has been severe spasms in his leg muscles which are causing pain and stress to his body. Please pray for relief from these spasms.
2/3/2005: You can now read another post from Daryl here. Whenever he posts, I figure I might as well just point you to it for your daily update. It's coming close to qualifying a a bonifide "blog" (for those of you that know the net lingo). Maybe after he gets out of the hospital I can teach him to fully run this site himself and make it a regular blog. hint, hint...
2/2/2005: Daryl got his stomach feeding tube out, yay! He posted a new entry so you can read it for yourself here. Thanks for visiting, come again soon!
