    Far

A song about missing people far away, running away from your problems, getting out before things turn bad, and the vagabond’s struggle with settling down.

Oh, and it’s in 5/4 time – we used to call it “seasick” because it gives the feeling of perpetual motion.

I’m seasick thinking of all of the waves
    Between you and me today
Forest and valleys and mountains so high
Between you and me a divide

I know you are very far
Maybe that’s why it’s been so very hard
To tell you I miss you but know why you left
I hope that you never regret
    Going
    Far

Thousands of miles and oceans of rain
Couldn’t keep you from this pain
Quit with denial and you’ll live again
And finish the person you’ve been

I know you are very far
Maybe that’s why it’s been so very hard
To tell you I miss you but know why you left
I hope that you never regret
    Going
    Far

This place is crazy it’s always changing
Is that why you never come home?
If it doesn’t stop soon then I’ll have to go
I’ll see you out there on the road

I know you are very far
Maybe that’s why it’s been so very hard
To tell you I miss you but know why you left
I hope that you never regret
    Going
    Far
