I did get my wheelchair back…

I just forgot to tell you all because I’ve been so busy!

It is definitely really nice to have my own chair - it’s so much easier to get around my apartment, and it’s about 20 lbs lighter which is great for when I have to travel some distance in it. I’m still not sure it’s 100% as it was before. They replaced the camber tube, the part that was broken, but now the camber seems like it might be a little bit different on each side which is a bit annoying…

Oh well, I have it back and now I’m hoping to get some additional compensation out of it. We’ll see.

As for the rest of my life… well…

I’m taking classes at Colorado State this year. I’ve been substitute teaching at the high schools in Loveland and Fort Collins the past two years and I’ve decided that I should get certified to teach so I can work for a school somewhere full-time. However, my undergraduate major and minors - Greek, Religion, and Archaeology - really are not subjects that are taught at the high school level (and my graduate work wasn’t in a subject that is taught in public schools).

I’m taking a bunch of English Lit classes hoping to certify in English, but I’m also taking some Latin with half a mind to apply to some PhD programs in Classics after the year. Did I tell you that I got into an MA in Classics program at San Francisco State? Well I did, and I would even have had my tuition covered, but San Francisco is a very expensive place to live…

And therefore, here I am, staying in Colorado - and happy about it! - for another year, but then who knows where I’ll go. You see, I was chosen for a scholarship that I’ll have to tell you about… but not until next time because I have to go to class now!
