What should I do next year?

This is an interactive post. I’m asking you what I should do next year. On May 20, I should be graduating from Calvin with a BA - Greek major, Religion minor. I’ve been praying about it, but I’m not sure what to do with myself after this. I would love to play lots of music, expecially in a church-like context - but on the other hand, I wouldn’t mind working on my biblical language skills (like, I wanna learn Hebrew…) - and I also wouldn’t mind not doing anything in particular, and instead spend some time putting together a book of some sort or learning how to walk again (which might be harder than I just made it sound). So, if any of you out there have great ideas or good advice or anything of the sort, please - PLEASE !- please tell me what to do with my life…

Well, well, well, Daryl is actually asking for advice so I want to throw an idea out there… David and Makeesha Fisher are hoping to start a new church/service out of Third Day this coming fall and they need a worship leader, um as soon as they mentioned this potential I thought of you. love ya, Carrie
in fact I am supposed to give them your email address but I don’t know what that is…

Well, I think that you should start a church with me. I don’t want to preach, but I do want to do the ministry….I can back you up when you want a break from leading worship…I guess we could let Dave preach, but we’ll have to put a time limit on him. I’ll do the student ministries, you can take on figuring out how to get new people to church and college ministry. we can do an outreach to dancers. Melissa could take on childrens ministries. Mike could just be Mike - stand in the door way with his strapping self to attract all the ladies. Can it be in a place that is warm though? How about southern california???

You should open up a lunch restaurant that is open from 3:00pm until 11:00am, selling sandwiches with funny, suggestive, and generally immature names. Or become the first person to travel across the Darrien Gap in a wheelchair. If you want a parter in either of these ventures, you know where to find me.

Holy crap. Someone who cares is reading my website. I love that guy, and I can tell that he cares because he replied and told me what to do with my life. Not only that, but his reply included an activity closely related to one of my goals in life. And that lunch restaurant, what a great idea. Could one of the sandwich names be “Old Woman”, so that people could say things like, “I’d like and ‘Old Woman’, please!” or “I’m so hungry I could eat a whole ‘Old Woman’!”?

I was also thinking that you should do something along the lines of leading worship so I guess my idea is not so different from others ideas for your life, aside from the sandwich shop-thats different alright.

Here’s the deal Daryl. If you are gonna learn to walk again you need to put it off long enough to sue someone for discrimating against someone with disabilities. After that I would suggest starting a company that makes communion wafers with greek phrases printed on them for churches.

    7. Mike says:

Well i suppose if you were to start a church in SO. CA i could attend every once in a while and “sit in the door attracting all the ladies”. But what are my ideas for what you should do…personally i think it should first involve some sort of trip to Sydney over the summer for the Hillsong Conference. From there the possibilities are endless, we could try to climb all the 14ers in Co, or Kilimanjaro.
